oh baby:: 25 weeks!
25 weeks! I feel like it was not too long ago that we were so excited about announcing our little gummy bear and now we know so much about him-- his crazy dance moves all.day.long, the fact that he loves to kick mama in the bladder (haha, isn't that funny?) and his precious name.
Because of an issue with my placenta, we get to go in tomorrow to see Silas again. I'm not too worried because neither the ultrasound tech or my doctors seem worried, but I'm thankful that we get to see him again and trusting that God is growing him just the way he's supposed to be.
Oh boy, have I learned a lot about trust during this pregnancy. I've had to hand so many things over to God and trust that He knows exactly what we need, what we can handle and what will best bring Him glory. We're so excited to raise this little one and hope one day he'll make his own decision to know and follow God.
Some of my favorite moments from the weeks past have been the early morning minutes when Chris comes in to say goodbye for the day and he leans in close and prays for Silas. Hearing him pray for his physical development, for us as parents as we raise him and even his future wife is something I will forever hold close to my heart and treasure.
Another of my favorite parts of this week was my baby shower thrown by my sweet girl friends. I'm excited to show you some of the beautiful photos taken by my friend Rachel, but until then, I'll just say that Chris, Silas and I couldn't be more blessed by our dear sweet friends and I'm amazed at the way they all love him already.
As far as the physical goes, I feel pretty much the same this week as last. Pretty uncomfortable, a bit of back pain, and wondering what the third trimester will be if I'm huffing and puffing this much in the second. Hopefully the busy-ness of moving, visiting family and settling in Florida will keep my mind off the unpleasantries... maybe?

PS. Apparently my belly and boobs decided they wanted to eat my belt today. Awkward.
Your photos are beautiful and you look stunning. I love that you're a few weeks ahead of me...it helps me gauge where i'm at :) Best wishes in the commotion of the next few weeks!
ReplyDeleteYou always look so great in your outfit posts! I'm so jealous. Your pants are really cute. I have no fashion sense whatsoever. And the outift for Silas is adorable! The shoes are so tiny! Hope you have a great day!

Okay, I know I'm super emotional from being pregnant, but that bit about Chris praying for him got me all mushy. Isn't it great to have a Godly daddy for your baby???
ReplyDeleteMegan @ Lemontreestudio
I think I'd get emotional about it even without the pregnancy hormones! It is seriously the best blessing.
DeleteAdorable as usual! BTW, where did you get that shirt, love the color!
ReplyDeleteoh, thanks! :) The shirt is from Forever21. They have bunches of stripes in the store right now-- had to snatch a few tops the other day. And it's not maternity. ;)
DeleteI love the photo of you leaning on the table with your foot arched. It's beautiful! Are you going to frame some of these?
ReplyDeleteThanks girl! Maybe I'll make a pregnancy book or something. Not sure I'll want big 'ol frames of my pregnant body around the house, but an album or photo book would be a good keepsake!
DeleteSuch great pictures! Love the stripped shirt!
ReplyDeleteI think the business will definitely make the third trimester go by fast!
Aww, I can't even stand how cute you are... and those deck shoes!! So precious!
ReplyDeletePS - That color blue looks phenomenal on you dear!
Supper cute outfit, is it maternity? and where is it from? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi Mandy! Nope, nothing in my outfit is maternity. The top and jeans are from Forever21 and my vest is from a boutique here called Cinnamon Girl. :)
DeleteThanks Lindsay! I am 17 weeks and always looking for cute clothes that can be worn now. I have to ask how are you wearing pants from f21? did you just get a big size?
DeleteBEAUTIFUL photos today Lindsay! <3
ReplyDeletei love that you're rocking the belt above your baby tummy, it looks great and it's obvious that you're PROUD to be pregnant! fabulous!

Okay seriously, all your baby posts are making my uterus hurt! But don't tell my fiance...
ReplyDeleteSo adorable! Your hair really makes me want to chop mine.
ReplyDeletedo it. ;) I'm a big fan of short hair!
DeleteYou look so amazing! Glowing :)
ReplyDeleteWish I was this fashionable when I was pregnant! You're so clever with your clothing choices, and I love that top!
ReplyDeleteOh! I know exactly what you're going through. We have an umbilical cord issue with our little boy. But, you're right - if the doctors don't seem worried, you shouldn't be either :) It's hard, though, isn't it? I pray every day that our son will grow up healthy and strong and that everything will go fine with the rest of my pregnancy and his birth. It's taught me a lot about trust and giving my fears to God. ~ Andi
ReplyDeleteP.S. I am so jealous of all the ways you wear your clothes!
Praying that everything works out with that umbilical cord issue, Andi! I definitely agree with your sentiments-- sometimes I just have to give all those fears away or they'll rip me up. It's definitely been a growing time (and not just physically... har har)!
DeleteCannot wait to see pics of your shower lady, you look lovely!
ReplyDeleteHi There! I just started reading your blog not too long ago, I stumbled across it from a re-tweet I think. I just wanted to let you know that your post made me smile today! I am 23 weeks pregnant and we are having some placenta issues too. I keep saying that going through this pregnancy has really grown my trust in God. There are so many things to worry about and stress over but I just have to keep giving it up to God and trust that his will is sovereign and good :) You also reminded me that I need to start praying for my little girls husband!! It's a scary thought haha but oh so important. I pray every day that she will one day decide to surrender her life to Jesus, and now I need to start asking that He will provide a man who will treat her the way He has intended and that her marriage will blossom and grow in Christ. Anyway, I have enjoyed hearing about your pregnancy and will be praying for your new family and the move!

ah, yes...i love stripes on a belly! you look fantastic. and what a sweet plaid shirt for your little man!
ReplyDeleteyou look beautiful! pregnancy definitely suits you :)
ReplyDeleteyou look gorgeous!!! I love the outfit... and yeah the whole belting thing gets more awkward the bigger everything gets ;-) at 37 weeks, it's hard to even tell if there's a belt there at all!
ReplyDeletethe third trimester is fun but the end can be rough. just be careful not to do overdo it with all the moving! I know that's so tough when there's so much to do around you, but just try your best. lots of love to you and Chris, and baby Silas too! :-)
love, Natalie <3
You are completely adorable! Pregnancy looks really good on you!
ReplyDeleteAnd I seriously got emotional reading about Chris praying for your baby... that is the kind of family and husband I dream of having someday. Truly beautiful, you are so blessed!
New reader over here, and I absolutely love your blog so far :)
You are such a BEAUTIFUL pregnant woman! This outfit is super preggo-friendly and so cute/stylish. Totally doesn't look awkard (referring to the boobs and belly eating belt comment. haha) You look fabulous!
