oh baby:: 29 weeks!

Silas and I hit 29 weeks on Tuesday and boy, am I feeling it. At the moment, kiddo is up in my ribs and making it hard for mama to breathe. I've been more exhausted than I thought would be possible simply from an hour of walking and my heartburn is back with a vengeance. (Even with my prescription Zantac and gobbling Tums... many tears were shed at 2am this morning I was in such pain.)

 I have really loved being pregnant, but this past week has made me weary and ready to have my body back to "normal", whatever that will mean from now on. I'm also ready to just be done with this transition and start making up our home in Florida.

My sisters (on Chris' side and my side!) threw me two different baby showers this past weekend. We feel overwhelmingly blessed by all of the friends and family that love this little boy already. I'm so excited that we will be closer to home now so they can watch Si grow.

I've also been feeling pretty mushy about Si's daddy this week. We celebrated Chris' birthday on Monday and our third anniversary yesterday. More times than I can count this week, I've glanced over at my husband and felt a rush of joy knowing he is by my side. More than anything, the sight I look forward to most is seeing him hold our baby boy in a few months.

My parents' house is quiet right now so I'm going to steal some time for a bubble bath and a nap before an epic sushi making night with my little brother and sister later.

  2. I wonder if it's not just heartburn but rather gall stones. Is the pain on your right side under your ribs? Can you feel it in your back too?

    1. No, it's nothing like that, just burning/reflux in my throat. Sounds like gall stones would be really painful!

    2. I'm glad ti hear it's not gall bladder related. I'll keep praying for you.

  3. Have you tried to drink milk when you have heartburn? I feel like somewhere I read that may help?

    Being pregnant/having a baby, I feel, makes one fall more in love with their husband. After I labored/had my c-section and Braden was in my arms, I felt a love, I hadn't felt for my husband before. It was stronger than ever and I felt like my heart was going to burst. I look forward to that feeling again when Maeva arrives -- three wonderful people, give to me by God -- could make my heart burst!

    1. I've heard so many different things-- some people says milk helps (and it has for me when I sip it slowly), and others say to stay away from dairy. Not much has helped though and I seem to get it no matter what I eat.

      That is so sweet and beautiful to hear. I bet he feels the same way towards you!

  6. Oh, and I had awful heartburn especially the more pregnant I got. I just ate a lot of TUMS. Nothing else worked but chowing down on those bad boys.

  9. I was going to mention the gall stones too. My sister had that with her 2nd. She thought it was just heartburn, the docs thought it was just heartburn but she ended up having her gall bladder removed right after the baby was born.
    On a happier note, I had pretty bad heartburn with my 2nd and my grandma told me it was because he was going to have a full head of hair! I hadn't heard that old wives' tale before but it ended up being true! He had, and still has, a very full head of dark hair. It held true for my other two as well. I didn't have any heartburn with my first and he was as bald as could for a long time. I had mild heartburn with my third and he had a normal amount of hair. I know it's just a silly superstition but it held true for me :)
    I hope you feel better soon! Being pregnant is hard but you look beautiful!

  18. 1 tbsp of Braggs Organic Apple Cinder vinegar, taken straight up! You will want to cry for the moment it goes down, but it neutralizes the acid reflux and is totally natural. I used it and I am a Momma of 3 :) Tums and all the other stuff only temporarily relieved my pain - Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar took it away for hours and it did not come back with a vengeance.

    Blessings to you!

    Enjoy your pregnancy! He'll be in your arms soon :)
