sunshine.
Almost everything about the beaches here is different from the beaches in Hawaii. It made me feel pretty sad when we first moved down here, but I'm starting to appreciate the sugary white sand, the seagulls and dunes. And that sunshine is a little bit different, but oh so delightful, especially after spending so much time in the air conditioning lately.
I'll take it. ;)

I bet the beaches are very different and it might be even unfair to compare any of them to Hawaii, but hey, at least you're near the ocean ;) But I totally know what you mean. I grew up in Rio de Janeiro and I miss Ipanema so badly! I can't even compare the beaches in San Francisco with Rio!
ReplyDeleteThe first time we drove down to Panama City we noticed just how different it was! We've been spoiled by Hawaiian beaches. We haven't been back to the beach since early April, even though we live so close. It's hard to do with a baby.

NOTHING beats the beeches in Hawaii!... The water is so different... Its slightly cleaner water but the sand is the key and that aloha spirit!!

ReplyDeleteI've never been to Hawaii so I don't know a lot about the beaches there, but I grew up going to Florida and they have some pretty amazing beaches. I'm glad you're learning to love it!
