La Sardina camera giveaway from Lomography!
One of the things I love about film photography is the factor of the unknown. I love the throwback to the days before instant gratification and the sacredness that each photo has when you only get one shot. Of course, sometimes that can lead to disappointment when things don't turn out as expected. But I think that's the beauty of film photography and I for one am up for the challenge.
Are you up for the challenge? I shared my review of the La Sardina camera from Lomography earlier today. Make sure to click over to see my colorful photos and read my experience and then pop back here to enter to win a La Sardina!
The La Sardina camera is an analogue film camera from Lomography. It features a 22mm wide angle lens (really fun to shoot with!), 2 focus settings and a detachable flash too! It uses 35mm film which is easy to find in any convenience store! The Orinoco Ochre model comes in a super funky orange reptile-inspired case. You can see more details about the camera here.
First of all, if you are a photography lover, you may want to sign up for a Lomography account. You can upload and share your photos, earn points towards shop credit and receive the latest promotions and news. AND HelloHue readers will receive $10 online store credit when you register with this link!

ReplyDeleteI love taking pictures of Emily most of all, but aside from that I love capturing the beauty in creation. We took a road trip this weekend and I seriously could have stopped every 5 miles to capture something especially the sunset. Oh geez!!

ReplyDeleteThere's a lot I love about photography but I think what I love most is capturing a memory to have to look back on one day in the near or distant future and have it be able to transport you back to that time to that memory.

ReplyDeleteEverywhere I go theres something beautiful to snap. Even the ugliest of things can turn out beautiful in the eyes of a camera lens. Everyone is different in their own way when taking pictures. And they can tell a lot about a person, which I love. Also, I love to take pictures to remember those sweet times in my life. :)

ReplyDeleteI love pictures mostly for the memories either about the subject of the photo or what was happening the day I took that photo.
ReplyDeleteI want this so badly! I am a portrait photographer so my favorite thing is to capture relationships between people.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what my favorite thing is about photography - maybe its the way you can capture a moment as a still, or the film, or the mystery that you're not exactly sure what you're going to get. I love it all, something about it is so simple - even when you're fussing with film, loading, angles and all.

ReplyDeleteI love the fact that I can capture a moment and go back to any particular photo and relive a memory. Whenever I see a photo of a loved one that's passed, it takes me back to a that time when I was with them. I think it's the sentimental part about photography that I love.

ReplyDeleteI love so many things about photography, but primarily, I love capturing a moment in time. Things that I normally might forget get captured in a photograph that I can look back on whenever I want. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat I love about photography: capturing a unique moment, whether it's the way the way the street looks at sunset with people walking down it laughing and talking, or a facial expression on someone you love, or just a little flower or unnoticed tidbit. Now, that moment is captured forever! I love that! It's all about sharing your point of view and that's the awesome part, you could set someone out on a busy street and tell them to take a photograph and everyone would come back with something different. It's a great thing!

ReplyDeleteTime just kind of freezes for a moment and you can look back and be like "ohhhh, I remember that! Wasn't that such a blessing? Wasn't that something really special?" You only live once and your memory only lasts so long. Remembering those great moments is what makes photography so special.
ReplyDeleteI love being able to capture the moment. The look. The scene. The feeling. Memories slowly fade (at least for me), but having a picture reference keeps them more fresh.
ReplyDeleteWhat you love about photography//
ReplyDeleteI love being able to capture a million laughs, giggles, and warm memories in literally one still moment. As they say a picture is worth a thousand words. Right?
Challenge of finding a new perspective// Yes I do because it makes those moments more meaningful.
Make you giddy to stop and capture a moment in time//Yes it does make me giddy to capture a moment because that moment can last forever and can remind us of good times in the storm.
Photography is still one of the rare things in life that you have to capture right away. Those photos come out sacred cos you know you'll never have those moments again.

Photography captures a moment and keeps record of a moment in time in a very special way. There's good reason for the saying 'A Picture says a 1000 words'. There are moments in my life (my wedding for one) where words will never be able to describe the feeling and memory I have, the photos however, say much, much more in a quiet, unspeakable way.
ReplyDeleteI love EVERYTHING about photography! It's been my "professional hobby" for about 4 years now and I can't get enough. I've been wanting to dabble in film and this is the perfect place to start.

ReplyDeleteOh this is awesome!!! And soooo cool. Me and my boss were looking back at old pics the other day when her brother, about to be 50, was a baby! Holy funny!!! There was an adorable pic of him. And two of his older girl cousins "posing" behind him....and their heads were cut off. bwahahaha! Priceless. I would love to snap away with some actual film. It's been years. I have my camera with me on the daily. I love capturing all those moments where MOST people scream, "UGH! I wish I had my camera." Because I usually do!!! Thanks for this cool chance....
ReplyDeleteI love that it allows me to remember all the small things in life.
ReplyDeleteI have loved photography forever! I'm always the one with the camera every where I go. I love going to botanical parks, beaches and friends and family events, before digital I always got double prints to share with others. I am putting together 2 scrapbook albums now, one of family, the other of friends. I also teach scrapbooking at my local store!
ReplyDeleteI don't flex my artistic muscles very often, so I like that photography allows me to get a little more creative than I usually am.

ReplyDeleteI love the sentimental feeling that comes with each photo...a memory or spec of time. Just yesterday I was digging through a box of old photos (from 15 yrs ago!) to find one specific photo that captured a moment I loved so. When I took the picture I never had any idea that I would treasure it, or the experience captured, the way that I do.
