sister style.
Out of my six siblings, I always end up seeing my little sister, Tori, the most when we go home. It's probably because up until a few months ago, she lived at home. I cherished the time I had with her this week, and can't believe the next time we visit, she'll be walking down the aisle marrying her guy. Since she's pretty much the most gorgeous little thing ever, I thought it'd be fun to do a sister style post with her.

Even though we are six years apart, we've been getting the "twin" thing our whole lives. Didn't help that my mom used to dress us alike. It used to bug me, but now I just smile because yeah, we look a lot alike and little do they know, but we're kind of complete opposites.
I want 6+ kiddos. She wants one, maybe.
Her closet is organized and color coordinated, mine is wrinkled piles on the floor.
I'm a cheapo and buy $1 sunglasses (since I'll break them anyway) and she invests in the good ones.
Long hair, short hair.
She's always wanted to be a "grownup", but I'll probably always be a goofball.
My wedding colors were pink & orange. Hers will be ivory and cream in May.

ReplyDeleteMy sister and I are complete opposites! I'm full of emotion, she's emotionless. I love concerts, she loves golf. She's going to a big university next year, I go to a small one. She acts twice her age, I act half my age. It's funny how two people who came from the exact same genes can be sooo different! I love seeing the differences between your style and your sister's!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE THIS! Made me miss my older sister! We are pretty opposite, but get along great. She has always been the driven, working woman. And I've been the get married young and start cranking out those kids! We sometimes think the grass is always greener about each others lives when we get down in the dumps; me being covered in baby puke nonstop and her not being married and having her own family, but we love each other regardless. She is always my go-to and I just love her dearly. Sad we live so dang far away!! I wish she lived closer to me. It would be fun to do a post like this!
ReplyDeleteOh man. This post was such a fun one to read. It struck home with me because my sister Barb (knackstudios.com) and I are six years apart and we are so different, yet so alike. It's so crazy! Sisters are the best. And, ps., I have to brag on mine a little because her first book, through Chronicle Books, is being released this Spring. She surprised me and sent me the first signed copy and I cried. It is so beautiful and so is she. Yes, sisters are the best. Loved this post.

ReplyDeleteMy sisters are alike in some ways, but total opposites in others. It all depends. When it comes to style we always ask for the others' opinions, but if you look at our dressing style they are totally different. Crazy.

ReplyDeletecute cute cute! My sister & I are a lot alike, but also very different. Totally different when it comes to clothes, freakishly similar when it comes to attitude. We also get the twin thing, even though we are 2.5yrs apart and look nothing alike. If it's not twins, people assume she is older.... I'm the older one. (my wedding colors were also pink & orange, yay!)
ReplyDeleteI love sister style posts. It makes me want to do them with my sisters! I have two sisters (one older and one younger) and I feel like we aren't really alike at all! In terms of style, we're all very different and personality-wise, we're not very alike either. I love it though because even though people think we're sisters, twins, or even mother-daughter (most embarrassing/awkward situation ever!), we aren't really anything alike which just helps us differentiate ourselves from one another. :)

ReplyDeleteMy sister is my half sister and she's half Mexican so she has all the dark tones (eyes, hair, etc.) whereas I'm blonde and have blue eyes. We're 6 years a part and are complete opposites, but can always relate to each other regardless of the situation.

ReplyDeleteI have a sister that's 5 years younger that is a lot like me. But my sister that's 19 months younger and I could not be more different! Brown hair, blonde hair. Long nails, short nails. Stays inside, loves the outdoors. Movie buff, cant sit still. After many years of fighting and not getting it, we FINALLY understand and respect each other and she's one of my best friends.
