oh baby:: 19 weeks!

Best thing about this week:: the days full of feeling this dancing baby in my womb.

Worst thing about this week:: finding out the date we have to leave our island home. We're glad to finally get some definite direction for our move to Florida but the tears start up when I think about leaving our ohana before this baby comes. Oh how we are going to miss those aunties and uncles. It's been such a blessing to watch our friend's little ones grow from tiny baby bumps to walking, talking, hilarious toddlers. We are sad that our baby won't get to know these friends like we've known them but we know he/she is still so very loved by them.

Words cannot describe how excited we are for our "gender reveal" party on Saturday! We can't wait to put an identity and name to this babe. We have the anatomy ultrasound on Friday and our dear friend Krynn will be the first to know who's in my belly when we hand her the secret envelope. She'll be baking a cake for us to cut into and we're just so stoked to see if it will be pink or blue! (My official guess is blue, only because literally all of my friends here are expecting girls and I feel that odds are this one's gotta break the streak!) Just a few more days!

Starting to feel uncomfortable as the belly grows and my body stretches. I kind of feel pretty huge already, but I know this is only the beginning!

  7. Oh hon, I understand. We moved from our beautiful California to Florida last year when our daughter was just a couple weeks old. It was so hard leaving family, to move somewhere we don't know anyone! Where in FL will you be? We're in Orlando now.

  8. You're looking absolutely beautiful Lindsay. I know the move isn't going to be the easiest but it's a new adventure, right?

Where in FL will you be? My folks just moved there!

  10. Your belly is cuter and cuter! Love your colorful outfit. So excited to hear what you are having. Will you post on Saturday after the gender reveal party? I wish we had done something like that when it was our turn to find out. My mom and MIL came to have lunch and wait in the waiting room to hear right away about our girl. Well I am going with TEAM PINK!

  12. I can't wait to hear about the gender reveal party! How fun!! :] And I love your outfit! Also, I totally understand the whole not wanting to move away but wanting to know what your plans are. My husband and I are both graduating so we're not sure where we'll end up and it's scary just not knowing yet. Especially with a baby on the way!

  13. Where in Florida are you headed? I am living in Fort Lauderdale now, but I've lived in Melbourne and Orlando and I might be moving to the Tampa area.

  14. Your baby belly is absolutely adorable. And you make such a cute pregnant woman!

  15. I'm sure it's going to stink leaving gorgeous Hawaii, but you'll grow to love Florida. I moved here to Orlando in October 2010 & love it, especially since I get to avoid Midwest winters! At least you'll still be near either the Atlantic or Gulf of Mexico, so you can get your surf on!

    1. It will definitely be nice to be by the ocean still, buutt sadly, there's no good surfing in Panama City. We'll just have to plan a trip back here for some wave action! ;)

    2. You'll just have to take a weekend trip over to the East coast of Florida to find the surf. New Smyrna Beach, Cocoa Beach, Satellite Beach. Much cheaper than flying all the way back to Hawaii. But if given the choice, I'd choose Hawaii too. ;-)

  16. okay, i think i missed the Florida news? can you direct me to that post? i can't seem to find it. and for some unsolicited advice on the cake cutting party. i've seen so many of these where they cut the cake on either side then try to get sneak peak of the inside and no one can see the results. there is a right way to do this. in one motion you slice off the 'front' layer of a side of the cake so to speak. so that it falls forward onto a plate if that helps paint a picture. MUCH better reveal for all involved! (you can see video's of what i'm talking about on youtube)

    1. Oh, great advice for the cake cutting! Would never have thought of that. Sounds like you've been to a lot of these kinds of parties! :)

There's not a specific post about Florida, we've just known all year that we'd be going there next for some training for Chris. :)

  17. Yes, this is definitely only the beginning, but I feel you! I get a bit uncomfortable sometimes too and I'm like, "Oh, yeah totally remember this!"
It's not my favorite feeling, but I cannot wait until the baby starts moving more and until we find out what we are having as well!

Looking forward to you guys finding out and hearing about it!

  19. You look so cute! We are finding out tomorrow if it's a boy or girl! I'm carrying high like you-- hope it's a girl for the both of us so we can put her in cute headbands and bows :)

  20. Cute dress! I loved Target for maternity clothes, and often I could find coupons for $3 off online. I vote girl, since everyone I know who had babies this year had girls--including myself! I also stalked your comments to see where in FL you were going, since we're in Pensacola. The Navy base is Panama City is tiny from what I know. Some people around here do surf, but I'm sure it's nothing like Hawaii. (Well, maybe when there's a hurricane headed here, it is?)

  21. Very cute outfit. If I had to guess, purely by the way your carrying your wee-one, I think it's a boy. Either way, he or she is going to be so blessed!

  24. aw love following your belly photos! I had a hard time sleeping on the side when I was pregnant so that's good you have no problem with that!

ps. So far I havent seen a huge significant on the photos just yet since I still need to play around with it. I do like how sturdy and tough the 1.4 is though. YOu can tell that it is better designed and is faster then the 1.8, plus has great depth of field!

  25. You are sooo cute!! Sorry for all the mixed emotions as you prepare for your move. I am sure it is hard... especially being pregnant.

Can't wait for your gender reveal party tomorrow!!
