over the weekend:: seaside
After church yesterday, we drove along the scenic 30a highway to a little town called Seaside. Apparently, this is where The Truman Show was filmed, which I totally get because sometimes I get a too-picture-perfect kind of vibe. But the beach houses are gorgeous and so fun to look along the drive.
It was a picturesque kind of day with perfect weather and a perfectly happy baby. We grabbed some lunch from food trucks along the road (I wish you could have tasted my gooey mozzarella, prosciutto and basil grilled cheese.) and then headed down to the beach to stick our toes in the sand.
Definitely not a "normal" December outing, except that we live in Florida and spent the last three years in Hawaii. So for us, sunny, warm December days are the norm lately. And I'll take it.
Tonight, we plan on getting our Christmas tree and decorating the house for the holidays. We might have to turn on the AC and pop in our fake fire DVD, just for fun. ;)
This post makes me miss my Florida Decembers. (your photos are beautiful and so is your family by the way) I grew up in Florida and then spent a few years in the mid-west before ending up out here in California. Out of the three, I much prefer Florida's Decembers :) But California is pretty good too.
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous that you get to wear SHORTS in DECEMBER! These pictures are beautiful. My fiance's parents usually visit Florida in the winter. I can see why :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for blogging today! Your posts are always so inspirational.
