pizza night.
Chris and I love cooking together. It's one of our favorite ways to spend time together and we usually try a new recipe at least once a week. Since Si arrived, it's harder to get in the kitchen together, especially because dinner time tends to be his fussiest time of the day. I'm so thankful my husband loves to cook because we'd be eating a lot of takeout without him!
But Saturday night, I tucked that baby into my Moby wrap and Chris and I set to work creating some homemade pizza. Our technique has improved over the past year, once we discovered the genius use of parchment paper. But this dough recipe has been our long favorite. Do you have a favorite pizza dough recipe?
My guys, hot crispy pizza, a cold Coke and movies. Pretty much a perfect Saturday night, I'd say.
Oh man, that looks yummy. Definitely going to try out your fav dough recipe
ReplyDeleteSounds like such a great, relaxing, night! :) I love making homemade pizza, but need to expand my recipes. We make the same type each time... Yours looks so good!

yum yum yummmmmm
ReplyDeletehave you ever made a baked potato pizza? (bacon, diced boiled & sautéed potatoes, cheese, green onions, and drizzled sour cream after it's cooked). SO good!
Ah, that sounds SO good. We were just saying we want to try different pizza toppings next time. That is definitely going on the list!
Deletewow! they have improved the sling since I used one!. I like yours.. I was able to do housework, as well as go shopping wearing that.... it definitely omits the stroller!.
ReplyDeletebtw, they say dinner time is the fussiest because baby can sense the hurrying around to make dinner as well as the cooking noises... U are smart to wear that sling.
ReplyDeletei love selfmade pizza! sadly we do not do this so oftn together, bt definitely gonna put this on our list!
ReplyDeletes. is sooo cute!!
I'll be the Debby Downer and tell you that dinner prep time is always going to be fussy baby time. haha I still have trouble getting dinner ready without a crying kid wrapped around my ankles! That pizza looks amazing. We haven't made a homemade one in months! I'll have to get on that soon. Do you make homemade tomato sauce for it? We don't, but we did learn to add balsamic vinegar to our jarred sauce before we spread it on the pizza and bake it. It puts and extra punch in the flavors!
ReplyDelete*an extra punch.
DeleteYeah, I've heard that about babies' fussy times. So inconvenient-- don't they know that?! ;) I often do make my own sauce, unless we just make the pizza at the last minute and we use jarred. Will definitely have to try adding balsamic vinegar-- that sounds awesome!
DeleteLooks delicious! And that's so cute that you cook together. :) We had homemade pizza Saturday night too! The perfect weekend treat.

ReplyDeleteKeep it up girl! It's so easy to forget to spend time together when you're so wrapped up (pun intended!!) with the baby! You're doing so great mama!!!
ReplyDeletePizza nights are my favorite :) I'm so lucky that my husband likes to cook too. It REALLY helps out! ♥Lindsay
ReplyDeleteway too much cuteness and yumminesss.. almost unbearable. love it!
ReplyDeleteWe make homemade pizza quite often - and I do the balsamic vinegar addition to whatever sauce we are using - but I never thought about using parchment paper! And I have parchment paper! lol Sometimes we make the most beautiful pizza - and it gets destroyed in the transferring of it onto the pizza stone. Not anymore! Woohooo! So glad you mentioned that! :o)
ReplyDeleteThis pizza looks divine... as do you, pretty momma!!
ReplyDeletePlease pass on to Chris that I think he did an excellent job watching that pizza bake. ;)
ReplyDeleteLove you.
