Giveaway: TidePools Jewelry!
So, I was really excited to be doing this giveaway for my 200th post! Except that apparently Blogger Dashboard counts my drafts too and so really, this is a giveaway in honor of my 173rd published post! Woo! Hey, I love any excuse for celebration! :)
I'm thrilled to introduce you to Christie Akagi, the owner and creator behind TidePools Jewelry Etsy shop.
Christie is from Hawaii and lives right here on Oahu! She's an incredibly talented self-taught artist and has been making jewelry since 7th grade. Her fabulous Etsy shop opened in 2008. Much of her dainty jewelry is made up of tiny shells and bits of seaglass --treasures she has found while combing the beaches of Hawaii. She says, "Finding that perfectly smooth piece of sea glass or a gorgeous seashell always puts a smile on my face."
I was looking through her shop yesterday and literally every page I went to I would say, "This is my favorite piece!" Needless to say, it was hard to narrow it down to a few pieces to show you. You'll have to click over to her shop to see each beautiful creation for yourself. Here are some of my faves (descriptions are Christie's).
"Dusk" - Sterling silver teardrop pendant with labradorite coins with freshwater pearls
"Pretty Pearls" - Freshwater white coin pearl necklace with silver, peacock, white, pink, and mauve pearls
"Snow White" - White sea glass with creamy white and pearly pink freshwater pearls
"Droplets" - Sterling silver earrings
"Green Seas" - Green sea glass with freshwater pearls
Aren't they fabulous? Do you want one?? Of course you do. :)
Christie has generously offered one of her beautiful personalized necklaces for one lucky reader! One winner will receive her very own...
"Sandy Beach" - Personalized sterling silver starfish necklace
So dainty, so feminine, just perfect, isn't it? Of course, should you win, you get to choose the initial of your choice to personalize it! Here's how to play.
1. To win you must be a follower of AisletoAloha using the Google Friend Connect feature. (Click the"follow" button on the right side bar.) Leave a comment on this post. I'd love to know about your treasured finds. Thrift store goodie? Amazingly delicious candy bar? The perfect comfy tee?

So you can potentially enter up to three times. Giveaway will be open until 10pm Wednesday night (Hawaii time) (September 1) and the winner will be announced (using random.org) on Thursday, September 2nd.
Have at it!
My treasured finds are usually free. One is a t-shirt I won on Twitter that is really soft and comfy. I love when I wear it and I do all the time!
ReplyDeleteMy most treasured find isn't something I found at a store or something I've had forever. It's a few things that I "found" in my parents attic a few years ago that belonged to my grandfather from when he was in the war. They are very important to me and I would be devastated if something ever happened to them. I discovered his gas mask bag, canteen, ammo box, and a few other little things. The feeling I get when I walk up my stairs in my house and I see his picture with all of his belongings is hard to describe, but it definitely brings a smile to my face every single day! So, I hope this goes with your "treasured find" comments! But I guess things that are treasured don't have to be bought right? XOXO
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite treasured finds right now is my bridesmaid dress for my sister's upcoming wedding. On a tight budget I couldn't justify dropping 300 smackers on a dress for 8 hours....low and behold Craigslist answered my prayers with the PERFECT (!) dress for only 25 dollars! Now I will look and feel like a princess at the wedding for small change. Yay!
ReplyDeleteAlready follow you :)
ReplyDeleteDon't have (or understand) twitter. Boo hoo.
But my most treasured find is really just my favorite bargain: a 500 dollar Coach bag I got for less than 125. But I also bought this gorgeous turquoise and sterling silver ring with unique detailing at International Marketplace that I literally wear every single day.
My treasured find wouldn't be very valuable in Hawaii :P It is a heavy wool coat of a beautiful weave. It was only missing one button, but I got it at the thrift store for only $15.
ReplyDeletePS I also mentioned on my blog, http://laurenchanting.blogspot.com/2010/08/aisle-to-aloha-giveaway.html

I'm following :) Such gorgeous jewelery, thanks for doing this giveaway!
ReplyDeleteMy most treasured find is my collection of old Metallica t-shirts. Almost 10 years ago Dad and I were walking the streets of New York and stumbled upon a butterfly market in-between two buildings. I rummaged through and found about 12 graphic t-shirts from the late 80s and early 90s. I still wear them as sleep shirts!
I don't know how to follow and I don't have a blog =( hope i can still enter!
ReplyDeleteMy greatest find was at a thrift store when i found this amazng chloe bag!

ReplyDeleteHey Lindsay,
ReplyDeleteSo I am a follower now. I love this etsy shop, thanks for introducing it to us. I would say one of my most treasured finds is actually my sea glass that I've picked up from Hawaii and Bermuda. I love displaying it out for summer. It brings back many many wonderful memories. Hope to win the beautiful necklace!!

We love prowling antique stores that are filled with old treasures. Found a cool very heavy concrete bench with angels in relief on the ends, a steal at $50 and perfect for our garden.
ReplyDeleteLove the blog! So random that you're a sailor's girl from MD too.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous jewelry. In love with the starfish one.
My fave treasured find was alas lost in either my move to Hawaii or my move to South Carolina. It was this tiny little mother of pearl four leaf clover charm I used to wear ALL the time. Only stopped wearing it when the chain broke so I carried it around in a ziplock in a purse for months to get fixed...I think my purse ate it.
Now the coolest thing I possess is too awesome to wear frequently. It's a vintage fitted tee with a cartoony kitten with HUGE puppy dog eyes (one of those glittery decals that for whatever reason they only used in the 70's) that says "If I follow you home will you keep me?" It was my mom's in the 70's then my sisters and now mine. :)
Anyway stay in touch! Navy wives need to stick together...Especially Marylanders. :)
Psssst. I also Twispered to you. :)
ReplyDeleteFollow me @Blondeatbeach
And consider yourself blogged. :) Nice meeting you! We will have to Twitter back and forth now about blue crabs, Inner Harbor, OC, cream of crab soup, "hon," and all things Maryland.
ReplyDeleteThanks for commenting on my page. Keep in touch!

I'm pretty excited about my most recent find. I went to a fabric yardsale and filled a paper grocery bag with probably 10-15 yards of different fabrics for only $10. I have a lot of fun fabrics and so many ideas, I can't wait to get sewing on something.
ReplyDeleteI'm on my way to the beach soon, I'd LOVE to win the beautiful necklace!
I recently found a local inflatable bounce arena just a mile down the road from me. finding fun indoor activities during the summer in FL is certainly a treasure in my book :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite finds are always items that are exactly what I have been looking for, but I find them for a lot less than expected! Like the curtains I found a few weeks ago!
ReplyDeleteI tweeted this giveaway @eep86
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that I found the people who make the ca-ute hawaiian-printed kitchen towels that you find at the fancy decor stores in town, and they sell me their stuff at wholesale prices!

My treasured find is probably my 1950's chair in my living room. Waiting to save up to have it re-covered but I love it!!
ReplyDeleteLoving that jewelry too!!
my treasured find is my rescued kitty!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely adore this jewelry! My heart has always been partial to the beach. My family spent every summer I can remember at this one beach house in North Carolina and I still have several shells and beach treasures that I found over the years. When my boyfriend asked me out, he gave me a sand dollar that his grandfather had found in Ocean City, MD. I was smitten. :)
