n'awlins.

A ton of pictures, but just a peek into our weekend trip to New Orleans. We met up with our dear friends from Hawaii, Tim and Katie, and their two little girls. It's been almost a year since we left the islands and we feel refreshed after spending time with friends that are more like family than friends.

Most of the trip centered around strolling through the streets, admiring the colorful architecture, and stopping only to sample the rich food-- beignets, jambalaya, gumbo and étouffée. You can imagine how tasty it was, since I didn't take a single photo of our eats.

After lots of traveling over the past 6 months, Chris and I are ready to hunker down and rest up before our big move at the end of April. I love our ever-changing, adventure-filled life and feel so blessed that we have the means to travel and see new places and old friends.

psst. more New Orleans pictures here from our first trip last summer.

  10. Hi Lindsay! I have been reading your blog for a long time and I'm not sure I've ever left a comment.... until now! First, I LOVE NOLA - we had a fabulous trip there for our 5th anniversary - and I always find a way to drop hints about why we need to go back there. Pronto. I love your pictures of your trip - the one of the three of you by the fountain is my favorite. But anyway, the REAL reason I'm commenting is really to make a request for a post about traveling with a little one. (have you already done this?) You seem to be the seasoned pro at packing up and going with your little guy. Our first was born in mid-January and we're gearing up for a spring and summer of travel adventures (all on the road - no flying), and I'm scared out of my mind! Any shortcuts or hints or tips will be VERY helpful! Thanks... good luck with the house hunt and move to Boston. We are New Englanders and loooove Boston - it's a great place and I'm sure you'll love it!

    2. Hey Kelly! Yes, I have been brainstorming a few posts about traveling with a baby! I was planning on just writing about flying, but sounds like maybe I should write about road trips too? One of our goals when we had Si was not to let his presence keep us from doing things we would ordinarily do without him (traveling, going out to eat, etc.) I think we've been pretty successful at it. Not that it's not harder or tiring, but it's totally doable! Let me know if you have any specific questions that I might be able to help with! Thanks for chiming in!

    3. Oh good! Glad to hear you're thinking about writing a post about traveling. :) I'm sure we'll end up flying in the next year with the little guy, so I'll definitely use any tips you have for flying... but yeah, don't forget to share your road trip magic, too! I'm very impressed (and inspired) by your ability to keep up with your pre-baby lifestyle now that Si is here. Thanks for sharing...

    1. Hey TiffanyAnne! Thanks so much for your compliments! I have a lot of fun with my camera. It's a Canon Rebel t3 and I almost exclusively use my 50mm/1.8 lens. You can find a little more info about all that in my FAQ page on the left side.
