::closed!:: Blogiversary Giveaway: Retro Hawaii Map from Everything is Jake!
Ready for round two of the blogiversary giveaways? All week long, I'm sending a little Hawaii your way (you know, since I can't bring my awesome readers to Hawaii!)
I know you've seen me blog about my super talented buddy, Rachel, who took our homecoming pictures last year and did our photo shoot for us in December. Well, Rachel's hubby, Nick, is equally as talented! Nick is an amazing artist-- using paints, graphic design and even has spent the past year making over an old VW van!
And now he's opened an Etsy shop featuring some of his beautiful work! He's just getting started so there are only a few things in there now, but this shop is going to be a great success!
Today, one lucky winner will literally have Hawaii sent to her door. Up for grabs is this suh-weet retro Hawaii map in burnt orange and pale blue. The map measures 27x19 and is printed on heavy matte coated stock. I have one of my own and it is beautiful!
To enter, you must be a follower of AisletoAloha using the Google Friend Connect feature (Click the "follow" button on the right side bar.) Leave a comment on this post telling me how your hubby, significant other, brother, dad, gets creative. Does he work on cars? Love to draw? Throw together interesting outfits? I love seeing creative guys, don't you?
Chris loves cooking up yummy meals in the kitchen. :)
**Additional entries**
2. If you tweet about the giveaway, leave a second entry. Make sure to mention me (@aisletoaloha) so I can keep track of the tweets!
3. If you are a fan of Everything is Jake on Facebook, leave a third entry.
So, you have the potential to enter three times.
**Please make sure I can find your email somewhere (on your blog, etc) or your entry is invalid! ****Open to all readers, US and international-- I love you all!**
The giveaway will be open until 10pm (Hawaii time) next Sunday, April 3rd. I'll choose the winner using random.org and announce it on Monday, April 4th. Good luck!

ReplyDeleteLoooove the map - another fun giveaway! My honey loves music & gets creative by putting together eclectic playlists for us to listen to together.
Very cool! I love his VW van and I really wish while we were here we could own one all decked out and use it for traveling and camping in the European countryside! Very cool! I love his water painting too!
ReplyDeleteLove the map! My hubbie plays guitar and has been playing for about 18 years. Our girls like listening to him play :) I think they really enjoy that time with him.
ReplyDeleteI just "liked" Everything is Jake on facbeook!
ReplyDeletemy manly man will tell you he's a "man" because he works with his hands... and does tons of woodworking :)

How cool is Everything Is Jake?! Thanks for pointing out this creative guy to us!
ReplyDeleteMy Dad puts tons of time into designing intricate heating and air conditioning controls and set ups for work using a Computer Aided Design system. The blue prints he can draw up for you in just a few minutes will blow your mind! Of course, for fun on the side he spends time customizing his Harley. :)

My dad gets creative by writing. Hopefully when he retires he can publish!
ReplyDeleteMy boyfriend is creative daily...he works at Nickelodeon!
ReplyDeleteLove the map!!!

ReplyDeleteMy husband is creative in lots of ways! He's a handyman, and does the most beautiful work! He also is a great cook, and even has been known to paint a little!
ReplyDeleteSince my husband isn't that creative, I will tell you about my Grandpa. He is 95 years old and is an awesome gardener. He just recently moved in with my family and has turned part of their yard into a vegetable garden. He can be found working at his potting table most days out in the warm FL sunshine.
ReplyDeleteI am also a "fan" of Everything is Jake on Facebook!
ReplyDeleteI *NEED* this map!!!! I have a feeling I'll be making purchases from him in the very near future.
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm single, so the only men in my life are my dad and brother, and my brother loves to write music!
I like him on Facebook
ReplyDeleteMy hubby gets creative by playing video games that require strategy or "world building" as I call it. Basically, if he has to do any work to make the game playable, then I think he's being creative "enough".
ReplyDeleteTo be honest, he doesn't use his hands for much other than video gaming, but he does give me a lot of ideas to make things. He'll come up with something I could crochet or paint, and from there, I take the idea and make it a reality.
My hubby is an engineer so he is creative in creating/building things :)
ReplyDeleteAnother beautiful give-away! My fiance, David, usually gets creative by writing. I still have a few poems he wrote in my little box of "our" stuff.

I'm a follower! My dad likes to work in the yard... whether it's planting something for mom, or moving rocks around (yes, he has a rock garden thing lol), he just loves to be outside working around the yard!
ReplyDeleteMy husband isn't quite the creative type. But, he is a whiz in the kitchen.
ReplyDeletep.s. What a great giveaway! This would go great in our house because I can point on the map to show all of our visitors where they are "in Hawaii". :)
I'm a follower and my husband is a photographer and just getting ready to open an etsy store as well!
ReplyDeleteI became a fan on facebook !
ReplyDeleteMy hubby creates gorgeous custom built-in furniture. When I give people "first time" tours of our home, I am the bragging wife, "David built this... David made this..."
ReplyDeleteTweeted!
ReplyDeleteMy hubby works on an old motorcycle, 1965 honda. He also does a lot of woodwork and builds things, like the shed in our back yard.
ReplyDeletemy hubs had a double concentration in college for both photography and visual arts. there's not a photo or piece of artwork in our home that one of us hasn't created. i love decorating with our own art!
ReplyDeleteI am a follower of your blog and I love this map!! My hubby gets creative by "nerding it up" and writing web code all day long. He created a website for us before we got married and we post videos and such for our family to see what we are up to. =)
ReplyDeleteROCK IT!! Love Rachel and Nick!!
ReplyDeleteummm... yes of course i would want Hawaii on my wall! Thanks for the great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteLindsay! I think I figured out how to enter :) You are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteOk, now for my real entry :) Bill relaxes in a few different ways... brewing Beer (which is actually an itneresting and creative process), cooking for me and with me, and always thinking of little ways to bless me (I constantly get cards for no reason) :)
ReplyDeleteI follow your blog!
ReplyDeleteAnd my man loves to work in the yard!!
Ooh, and I know just who I would give that map to!

My hubster has been getting creative lately by learning to play a secret instrument. I think I am the only person who knows what it is, so I can't divulge, but he has fond family memories around this instrument and I can tell how much he wants to pour out his soul through it. He loves to steal away to the porch and decompress from a long day at work while playing it.
ReplyDeleteMy husband used to draw pretty often, but he doesn't draw much these days. Instead, he actually helps me decorate the house, mainly our daughter's room. He'd probably hate me for telling anybody that!

My husband is an engineer by trade... he has been getting very creative lately as we are building a house the he has designed for us. He is also working on designing a cabin in rustic Alaska, where we live. It is pretty amazing to watch his hard work become reality!
ReplyDeleteThis map of Hawaii (our favorite place) would look wonderful on the soon to be orange accent wall in our new house! :)
My husband is very talented, and likes to figure out how to make things. Right now he is building himself a wooden and fiberglass johnboat. He really wanted a boat so he decided to build himself one! He was also trying to build a camp heater!

ReplyDeleteOy, seriously. I said it before but WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR WONDERFUL GIVEAWAY IDEAS?!!! Your brain must be filled with wonderfulness all over the place!
ReplyDeleteCreative guys are hard to resist. My guy races motocross, which doesn't seem much too creative to me. He gets creative by not crashing. :) He has a smooth way of hinting at how he thinks we should spend our time together. I'm trying to get him to paint some art for our place but I think I'm failing. ;)
Fan of Everything is Jake. LOVE the HI map!
ReplyDeleteMy hubby is a musician & writes tunes on his guitar(or iPad). :)
ReplyDeleteMy hubby is very into architecture and design. He has so many ideas for our future final home (he's Army - who knows when that will be?), but he built a vegetable garden for me, designed and built a patio in our backyard, all sorts of home improvement projects!

My little brother get creative with his art/drawing -- he's always coming up with the cutest little bug-villages and army men! Huge scenes that take several minutes to look at everything!
My hubby isn't super creative, except when I ask him to take a picture of me when we're somewhere special...then he's all about getting great composition and goes all artsy on me. So cute!
I tweeted about it! @blessedbride08
ReplyDeleteOh boy...creative would be the last word I would use to describe my fiance. I would say he is resourceful, finding uses for things, thinking outside the box.
ReplyDeleteHappy Blog Anniversary!
My boyfriend is very creative when it comes with surprising me. He planned an entire trip without me knowing and it was wonderful. Surprised me with a hot air balloon ride another time. He's great at treating me!
ReplyDeleteDoes brewing beer count? I think it's definitely getting my hubby's creative juices flowing! It's equal parts art & science - and we get to drink the results! Cheers!
ReplyDeleteI like Everything is Jake on Facebook, as Kate Baldwin.
ReplyDeleteI love this map. It would look fabulous in our Hawaiian-themed nursery. ;)
My hubby gets creative just thinking up awesome business ideas! I swear the man has "invented" at least 50 business (that he never actually pursued) but he has an amazing business mind!

ReplyDeletemy love is a very linear thinker and doesn't express his creativity in any typical ways--however, he is totally creative when it comes to planning a day of fun events; he often plays it by ear leaving tons of room for creative liberty and lots o fun!
ReplyDeletemy 11 year old lil bro on the other hand expresses his creativity through inventions--he has come up with so many cool games, collectable cards, etc. it's so cool to see his mind at work!
