The fun part about blogging is that I can go back to my 17 week bump post in February 2012 and see what my Silas bump look like compared to my pregnancy with this babe. I was actually really surprised to see that my belly isn't all that much bigger now than it was then.
I also wrote about having caught a nasty cold that week, and this week, I'm struggling through one again. I lost my voice on Sunday (I was determined to sing those hymns on Easter Sunday and wasn't going to be silent during our Easter lunch with friends!) and I've been feeling just a teeny bit miserable at night when I'm trying to sleep.
But otherwise, I'm quite surprised at how great I feel. Seems to me that being pregnant the first time around was way more dramatic. Every ache and pain was a little bit monumental. Lately, there are moments when I even forget that I'm pregnant, until I feel those tiny flicks or have to pee for the 12th time in an hour. Or when I go to get dressed and woah there, my body is way different (again).
Even though I've pinned a ton of maternity outfit inspiration with flowy dresses and tops, I think I'll always veer towards wearing things that hug my baby belly. The cut of this black floral top from Pink Blush Maternity is pretty close to perfect in my opinion. Between the deep scoop neckline, the 3/4 sleeves and the long length of the hem, it couldn't feel more flattering. I've been wearing it non-stop lately and it's seriously a perfect top for the warming spring weather.
I'm teaming up with Pink Blush today to bring you a giveaway! If you're expecting a babe of your own, or want to bless someone who is with a $40 gift card-- this is your chance! Pink Blush offers pages of trendy maternity clothes-- from flowy peasant tops, comfy cardigans, and of course, the perfect scoop neck 3/4 sleeve tee.

Those cargo pants are pretty awesome too! Are they also maternity? If not, what tricks do you have for wearing non-maternity pants while pregnant?
ReplyDeleteNon-maternity! I've been lucky to not really need maternity pants too early on, though my regular pants are getting a little tight. I swear by my Bella Band-- helps keep your pants up even when you have to un button them!
DeleteI looove a good belly hugging top (when pregnant! hah). It's like, the only time you don't have to worry about letting it all hang out and it looks cute, to boot! love that floral top.
ReplyDeleteLove this top! I have the fever for a 3rd :)
ReplyDeleteDue with my second in Oct, a few weeks after you. :)
ReplyDeleteLove that top!
ReplyDeleteI'm due about a week before you, I think... and from my first pregnancy, I remember loving my Old Navy basic tank top. It was summer and it was hot and that was easy, so I plan on getting a few more this time.
ReplyDeleteI'm a couple weeks behind you (15 weeks) and waiting impatiently to get out of the awkward beer belly stage! Your bump always looks so cute! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm 12 weeks with my first pregnancy and so excited!
ReplyDeleteGetting lots of rest and drinking water.
ReplyDeleteEat healthy, drink lots of water, and stay organized! Love that top!
ReplyDeleteI've been getting plenty of sleep! with twins on the way ... rumor has it that I'll be a zombie for the next few years! :)

Wearing makeup always helped me feel pretty during pregnancy!
ReplyDeleteaccessories!
ReplyDeleteDoing my hair and makeup makes me feel the best! :)
ReplyDeleteYou're adorable!!!
ReplyDeleteLove this whole outfit! I feel my best eating loads of fruits and vegetables!
ReplyDeleteI love to drink as much water as possible. Could go without peeing constantly though. :)
ReplyDeleteOh man! I kinda miss being 17 weeks and thinking my belly is huge or forgetting it's there - now at 30 weeks I still forget it's there and walk into things! During my pregnancy so far, the belly hugging clothes make me feel best! I love showing off they baby bump as it grows.
ReplyDeleteGetting lots of rest and eating well!
ReplyDeleteThankful that you have a similar belly size as I do. I was starting to freak out that it was getting out of hand. I'm 17 weeks too and would love that top!
ReplyDeleteCurrently 26 weeks and I have to drink as much water as possible to keep my stomach settled! That "morning" sickness is no joke!
ReplyDeleteI'm almost 12 weeks into my first pregnancy and I have to eat almost constantly to feel "normal". Pasta and beans (not together) have been my go-to foods lately :) Also I just adore that shirt! So cute!

ReplyDeleteI feel best when I bother to put together an outfit when I'm pregnant. Versus just hanging out in baggy sweats!
ReplyDeleteEating clean always makes me feel better. I forget, then I eat like I did on Easter...and I remember. ick!
ReplyDeleteThanks for a great giveaway! I'm 20 weeks, so close to you!
Christine
Right now in my first trimester I am just trying to survive nausea. Lots of rest and lots of lemon water are getting me through now, but I really want to be cute when I start showing!
ReplyDeleteGetting dressed in something that accentuates the bump always makes me feel good when pregnant - that, and sipping on sparkling water!
ReplyDeleteSO cute! I've been loving tops that hug my growing belly too!
ReplyDeleteSporting my array of maxi dresses is the best way to keep it comfy and feelin' good :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy to have discovered this company through your blog! I'm loving this floral top so much!
ReplyDeleteI'm about a month behind you and my go to for feeling better pregnant is going to bed early oh and ice cream. Ice cream makes everything better! Love that top, too cute!
ReplyDeleteGetting some exercise!
ReplyDeleteHonestly I feel best when I just get a chance to lie down for a few minutes! This second pregnancy has been harder than the first and when I get home from work, I just need a little break with my family!
ReplyDeleteJust depends on each day. Sometimes it is chocolate chip coconut banana pancakes or a drink of coffee on my deck. Sometimes it is something small like putting on making and dressing up after wearing sweats for a day or two.
ReplyDeleteI'm due August 30th and I'm only now really starting to show (21 weeks and 3 days today). Definitely weird (and slightly uncomfortable) wearing prepregnancy clothes. I can still fit into them but sitting makes my pants feel tight and not being used to the belly makes me feel self conscious :/
ReplyDeleteMy way to feel great is definitely relaxing. Especially since I've been having pain in my belly over the last couple of weeks. Not sure if it's my uterus stretching or just my abdominal muscles being like, "Hey! That's too much at once!" but it certainly isn't pleasant. Rolling over is uncomfortable alone! I can't wait until the water in the pool at our complex is warm enough (for my personal taste) to swim in! I'm sure that will feel awesome!
ReplyDeleteYou are adorable, and your belly looks prefect in that top! I'm 27 weeks and only started to look really pregnant about 2 weeks ago. Ha. But I love finding new pieces to enhance the bump. :)
ReplyDeleteI am currently 7 months pregnant with another boy. I love flowy tops and dresses...keeping comfy is key!

ReplyDeleteI am 32 weeks pregnant and doing lots to keep myself feeling good at this point! I try to eat fruit and veggies everyday, drink lots of water, and prop my swelling feet up and cover them with a damp towel (feels amazing!). That's just the physical stuff though! For my mental well-being, I've been tidying up her nursery and spending lots of time with my pup, who won't be the center of attention much longer.
ReplyDeleteNow that it's getting warmer, I feel great after a nice walk! Gets the blood flowing and always puts me in a better mood!
ReplyDeleteCute maternity clothes, woohoo!
ReplyDeleteLove your outfit! Not pregnant but have friends who would certainly love some new clothes.
ReplyDeleteA brisk walk in the sunshine always helps me feel great! Love that shirt!
ReplyDeleteYou always look so beautiful! Would love to bless my daughter with this!
ReplyDeleteLove PinkBlush - their tops are so cute! I've been eating enough chocolate ice cream to single-handedly keep Breyers in business this pregnancy :)
ReplyDeleteYou look so cute! I have been wanting to try some of the pink blush maternity items. I am just one week behind you! Yay!
ReplyDeletedrinking water, and allowing myself a chocolate break :)
ReplyDeleteGoing to bed early has been my way of staying happy, as in I go to bed no later than 9pm every night and may have been in been at 7:45pm last night! ha ha This is my first pregnancy and I'm only 14 weeks along, so I have not been able to wear any maternity clothes yet but I know I'll be there soon! I would love to win this as an excuse to make my first purchase! I have been browsing the Pink Blush website and there are so many cute items!!
ReplyDeleteI am 31 weeks with my second and I'm far bigger this time around, nearly outgrown all of my summer maternity clothes so I would love a chance to grab a few essentials.
ReplyDeleteyou look so adorable! drinking water always makes me feel great!
ReplyDeleteWalking, water, and resting while the 2 year-old naps. :)
ReplyDeleteCute clothes don't hurt either!
Thanks for the opportunity.
starting my day with a smoothie and some morning & evening by spurgeon always made me start off my preggo day on a good note!
ReplyDeleteFor me, making sure I get out of the sweats and into something cute. It's always worth the effort and always perks me up!
ReplyDeleteI feel greatest when I treat myself to something...maybe even just 30 minutes of ME TIME:) As a mom...that's hard to do...but thankfully I have an amazing husband to help me out with those 30 minutes:) It's just enough to feel like myself again! Other times it's Target. Wandering at Target;)
ReplyDeleteDrink a lot of water and get yourbody moving everyday. :)
ReplyDeleteTaking some time to read a good book - that always makes the day feel better!
ReplyDeleteLove your shirt~ Awesome giveaway!
ReplyDeleteDrinking lots of water! I'm due August 23 and I wish I had a cute baby bump like yours! :)
ReplyDeletePink blush has the cutest stuff - I hope I win! :)
relaxing on the couch is the best! This pregnancy has been tough and I really need to relax when I get home from work
ReplyDeleteLove your outfit, so cute!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing when I was pregnant was to go swimming! As in, waddle back and forth in the pool for an hour every morning :)
ReplyDeleteWalking every day and flowy dresses!
