inspire me monday:: gray couches

It's been ages since I've done an Inspire Me Monday post, but as we're getting ready to move into our new apartment in about 10 days, my mind has been non-stop brainstorming ways to organize, decorate and make our new apartment into our new home.

This week we picked up a new slip cover for our IKEA Karlstad sofa-- a really lovely rich dark gray! (Specifically the Sivik dark gray cover). I love the color and with a baby on the way, it's convenient that we can just toss it into wash if (er, when!) it gets dirty.

I've gathered some bright inspiration images this week. I'm drawn in by the abundance of bright white, lots of color and clean modern lines.

    Grey is a great color to combine colors with. We're planning to paint our walls grey for some time now but didn't manage to finally do it yet...I hope your new home turns out how you imagine it and that you feel strong and fit enough to manage all that stress. I'm just 14 weeks pregnant now and even the thought of moving and decorating a whole new apartment makes me want to just lay down at the couch and don't move anymore.

    Love the gray. I really like the shelves with the glass vases and the wall art behind the couch as well. So fun to put together your new place for you, your husband, and little boy!

    You are the first person I have seen to have a living room that is COMPLETE. Mine is almost there, and in my mind, so are many others'. Looks beautiful, and I love the globes!

    We have that exact gray slipcovered couch and LOVE it. I was worried it would show lighter dirt and especially formula droppings or spit up from our Little Mister. BUT NOPE it doesn't. It actually feels like it has some stain repellent on it or something. When formula drops on it...I run to get a rag and then can't find where it was. Doesn't leave any mark...at least not yet. And formula is the worst. But even spit up....it has wiped right up with a warm washcloth. And we have all bright white walls with our gray couch and I love it. I love the contrast and the crispness. Have fun moving into your new place and decorating. Decorating is my most favorite thing to do. And P.S. your belly is gorgeous!! :)
